Why does my chain saw leak oil ?

Every time I put my chainsaw in the case it leaks oil. I am not overfilling it.Why does my chain saw leak oil ?
Does your saw have an automatic chain oiler that needs adjustment? It may be excess oil dripping off the bar after you shut the saw off. Make sure the oil reservoir is not cracked and, as previously mentioned, that the filler cap is sealing. Why does my chain saw leak oil ?
On some saws there are small plastic lines that run into and out of the oil tank. They run through small holes in the case and could be worn. Just something else to check.
Probably the cap not sealing, I used to own one that did the same thing.
you may want to check if the cap actually has a rubber seal on it.
