When taking the front wheel and forks of the motorcycle , will the suspension some apart , and will oil leak?

I have never done this before but I have a rough idea of what to do to get my new gaiters on my Honda XR 125 . However its a little daunting and I don't want the suspension joints to come apart , resulting in in oil leaking out ETC .When taking the front wheel and forks of the motorcycle , will the suspension some apart , and will oil leak?
Not a chance, but its a hell of a job to take on if you don't have the proper tools.

Get yourself a Haynes manual for your model bike. When taking the front wheel and forks of the motorcycle , will the suspension some apart , and will oil leak?
HUH? your forks are sealed. the forks will not leak if you take them off the bike.
gaitors?

I am guessing you are referring to the expanding rubber like fork boots that protect the exposed fork tube that slides into the lower portion???

pretty simple actually ... I don't guess the boot will slide up from the bottom by merely removing the front wheel assembly???

otherwise, merely loosen the pinch bolts in the triple clamps (upper %26amp; lower) that clamp the upper fork tubes in place. once these bolts are loosened enough, the fork tube should turn in the triple clamp... merely slide the fork tube down and out of the triple clamps, slide the fork boot over the top portion of the fork leg and slide the upper fork leg back up into the triple clamps and tighten the pinch bolts back in place. repeat on the other side fork leg ... insuring both fork legs are at the same height in the triple clamps upon completion...

then slide the fork boot down over the lower fork housing and install either a clamp or zip-tie, repeat on the upper portion... about 15-20 minutes per fork leg tops...

replaced bunches of these over the years on KDXs %26amp; XRs... but shooting from memory, most could be done from the bottom by removing the front wheel assembly and stretching the boots over the base of the lower fork housings... (much easier %26amp; quicker).

oh yeah, as long as you do NOT remove the top cap off the forks, you should not have any oil leakage (unless the seals are already damaged where the fork tube slides into the lower fork housing).
All good answers nothing to add.
suspension joints?...lol...love the terms...

no,the forks will only leak oil if you separate them...your only replacing the gators.easy as pie...but it need 2 people...

1,raise the bike with a CENTRE bike stand, you need the front wheel about a foot off the ground, take off the caliper and hose mounts.

loosen spedo cable if it has one.

loosen all the alen bolts on the top and bottom yolks..

now tap the wheel down and both fork tubes will drop out of the yolks..

remove and replace gators.

refit the forks and retighten.....

ive done 1000's.
Nah you got nothing to worry about.
take the wheel off first, to reduce the weight

then the forks, by loosening the bolts on the yokes

oil won't leak unless you split the top and the bottom of the forks, which you don't need to do
You wont have any oil leaks or any problems so long as you just drop the forks from their yokes. Simply take out the pinch bolts that hold in the forks and you should be able to drop the forks out. Replace the gators and slide the forks back in to place. Remember to use a torque wrench when tightening up your forks. The bike manual will tell you what the settings are.
Its really not much of a job and pretty easy once you get into it. Removing the forks won't cause them to leak.

Be sure your re-install the forks with the same amount of tube clearing the top triple clamp
NO, I am sure for I did this before.
