How much $$ to find the location of an oil leak?

I have a 15 year old BMW and the guy that sold it to me said it had a small oil leak he could fix. Well, that was months ago and he hasn't been able to fix it despite 3 or 4 attempts. Any estimations on how much it is to have somene that knows what they're doing find the leak? How much $$ to find the location of an oil leak?
most shops will do a quick inspection of the car and tell you where the leak is at on it and ma charge a nominal fee,but it shouldn't be over 25 bucks to put it on a grease rack and tell you where its leaking from, most leaks can be found really quick on a car, good luck. How much $$ to find the location of an oil leak?

Do it yourself.

If you find it in 5 minutes, you know he was lying.

If you can't find it, he was telling the truth.

It's not that difficult.

Otherwise, for something like that (ie, a job you could do yourself, but would rather pay someone to do), I'd probably charge you around $300. Maybe more, depending on how hard it really is to find.
you can go to your local auto parts store and they have additive you can put in the oil that you can see with special glasses or higher dollar units use u.v light to find the dye in the oil to pin point the leak even the high dollar units are under 100
A friend just had her Mercedes 190E inspected at a German car specialty shop. It was dripping oil, and she thought she smelled gasoline. The cost of just the inspection was $75.00. This is in California. Labor rates may be different in other areas.
