What could be the cause of an oil leak?

I have a 2003 Buick Rendezvous and the low oil alarm went off.


When I put oil in it, it poured out of the the bottom onto the concrete. What could be the cause of an oil leak?

You need to get up under the car and look. It could be where you hit something and knock the oil pan out of place, it could be the oil seal, it could be where you have a hole in the pan, or it could be where the plug is not in. Hopefully, it is one of the options that are not costly.





The question is did you hit something recently that would have caused damage to the oil pan?
It sounds the oil pan plug has fell out, or you have a really bad leak on or around the oil pan. Don't try to drive it in this condition.
Could be hundreds of things like gaskets or seals, tow it to a shop.
Oil pan or maybe a main oil seal.
