I had Oil leak in my driveway and its dry already. Can i use cat litter to clean it up?Can anyone tell me how?

I had car oil leaked in my driveway. And it's dried already. I need to clean it up. I heard that cat litter can clean it up, but I'm not sure the context wether it's still wet or dried. can anyone tell me how? thank you so much.I had Oil leak in my driveway and its dry already. Just plain old Flour or Cat Litter will absorb any oil spill. But to clean the oil spot that has been sitting for a while, you must use a degreaser. I use a hand cleaner, the kind that mechanics use to clean their hands. You can find it at any hardware store. This will break down the oil. Add a small amount, scrub with a brush. Then I sprinkle a little Tide, scrub that and then rinse it all away. This works perfectly.I had Oil leak in my driveway and its dry already. Try using hair conditioner,it worked a bit for us.
Cat litter. Sprinkle it on and rub it into the oil stain with your foot. You will have to work it in more than a few times but it will work. The US military uses this method as well as automotive mechanics. It will work.
go to your auto supply store, and ask them what to use to clean parts, and how to use it. I used to use Varsol, but I don't think you can get it anymore. It should be very easy to clean the oil spot off your drive
I'm sure there are products specifically for that. Otherwise I would try some Dawn dishwashing liquid, some water, a scrub brush, and a wet/dry vac. Repeat soap, water, scrub, and vacuum until spot is gone.
I use Dawn dishwashing detergent it will pull up the oil and with some scrubbing remove most if not all. Incidentally Proctor and Gamble makers of Dawn and based in Cincinnati have a crew that responds to spills in Cinci and they use dawn to clean the road

Good Luck and Best Wishes!
I've cleaned oil withTSP. You can find it in any hardware store. The oil isn't dry. Oil can't dry. It's just been obsorbed by the concrete. If the TSP doesn't work try muratic acid. BE CAREFUL! It is acid and is very strong. It's used commonly for etching concrete. Good luck.
I have heard that you can take Tide powder and put it on the oil leak and it is supposed to absorb the oil. Good Luck.
Cat litter is for wet. Since this is dry, go to your local auto parts store and ask for cleaner for the oil in the drive or you can also use Simple Green and water, that gets oil out. Have a scrub brush or stiff bristled broom handy for scrubbing.
Yes you can use cat litter for oil spills on payment, etc. It's almost like what the automotive places use to clean up oil spills in the garage.
The problem with many of the solutions I see listed here is that motor oil is mildly carcinogenic and you probably don't want to get it on your hands (even when it's suspended by detergent in your wash solution, it'll still get on you) if you can help it.

I've removed stuck on tar, oil and gasoline from an industrial yard with a product called Quik-Sorb. It's not the only brand, there are many -sorb variants (Eco-, Granular- and Chem- are ones I've seen). You will need to sacrifice a stiff plastic-bristled push broom to push the product back and forth along the stain.
THIS product really works...I have used it several times..available at ACE Hardware..
