Wouldn't the oil indicator light come on? ( o _ 0 ) Or wouldn't there be an oil spot on the ground? Is it possible to have an oil leak from your car without seeing any oil leakage?
I see cars every single day whose engines are covered in oil from assorted leaks - but the owners rarely report seeing any oil on the ground. An oil warning light will only come on if enough has leaked out to cause the pressure to be too low or the level to drop to far (depending on the sensors your car has).
If you are leaking oil there may well be an obvious sign, but you will not necessarily find it on the pavement. Is it possible to have an oil leak from your car without seeing any oil leakage?
You could have a blown head gasket and that would send the oil into the radiator coolant, so you wouldn't see it but it would be leaking. and until the oil level indicator sensor picked up on it being low the Light would not be lit up.
The ';pizza box'; test:
Take a large clean pizza box and put it, open, under the car's engine overnight. If it is leaking oil, you will see it.
check your exhaust pipe to see if there is oil rsidue there. wait until it cools down first, you may have a blown valve or piston.
No and yes.
