Just keep an eye on it till you get it fixed. That means checking it often and keeping it full. DO NOT wait till the oil light comes on. That is not an oil guage but an oil pressure guage so if that light comes on it's too late.
Small amount of leaking doesn't affect engine performance unless its oil goes to its danger level. Even new cars traces oil leaks. Check oil level everyday and if you notice of at least half liter of oil consume everyday you have to fix oil leak at once
If the oil level gets too low, you will blow up the engine. Running low on oil for long periods of time can cause premature bearing failure. If too much oil gets on the exhaust, it could start a fire.
if you don't run out of oil it won't hurt it. it might smoke a little but the way i look at it is that you always have fresh oil going into your car! :P
It not only affects your car but more importantly it hurts the earth by draining into the storm water and our water system.





Please have it fixed ASAP.
If you lose too much oil, your engine will lock up and you will need to replace it.
